A little fetish inspired...

Ahhh these red wedge boots are amazing!

L'Officiel Netherlands September 2010

This is such a sexy, yet sophisticated shoot. It reminds me of something out of an Agent Provocateur catalogue or Belle de Jour in The Secret Diary of a London Call Girl. I love the contrast of the fetish inspired pieces like the shinny black bra, chocker necklace and the tough suspender stockings, up against the sweet hair and makeup and garden backdrop. The red accent pieces look fantastic, breaking up the monochrome shoots and making each look stand out, while still completing each other so well.

Luxurious Lace

Vogue Paris September 2010

In terms of creating a sexy look, you can't go past black lace. This shoot features black lace in all sorts of forms - bodysuits, shirts & dresses. I just love the first pic with the rose in her mouth. Incredibly stunning. Just as I was thinking it may be move on from lace, it seems to be all over the place again. There is something very classic about lace, and when worn the right way, it can look incredibly stylish. This weekend I'm attending the Rosemount Sydney Fashion Show and I'm thinking the event is the perfect opportunity to show off my black lace stockings. Paired with a simple LBD and either my lace suede boots or hot pink satin peep toes. Still yet to decide on the rest of the outfit but I think something in black lace is in order.

Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Fall 2010

My pal Sam and I had our eyes glued to the TV as we watched Jean Paul Gaultier's Haute Couture Fall 2010 make an appearance on FTV last night. I can't believe it was the first time this collection caught my eye because it's oh so amazing! It is the essence by French chic. Where else but Paris would you find models smoking cigarettes on holders on the runway? Not that I'm endorsing smoking. It is a filthy habit. But it definitely gives the collection a Cruella de Vil like quality. I was obsessed with her as a child - carrying around my drawn sketches of her in an elegant folio in various animal print ensembles. The turbans and red lips add that fantastic theatrical element to the collection that I adore so much. And you can't get a better stage beauty than Dita Von Teese. I love the various styles of pumps (particularly the t-bar ones), the use of sheer black fabric, velvet, fur, fishnet and lace legwear.  Magnifigue!

This shoot is just beautiful. I feel as though this is the perfect shoot to depict Sydney's winter weather today - sunny and warm, yet still cool enough to require long sleeves and closed in shoes. Luckily, I didn't have class today so I got to spend the morning eating bacon and eggs on toast, on the balcony, over looking the ocean with my close friend Amy. Actually, we had the class off the visit the courts for an assignment, but we forgot - small, insignificance detail I say. Back to the shoot now. I love the simple black & grey wool pieces and the socks with pumps, combined with the sun-kissed hair. The looks are perfect for autumn or the end of winter. As for the cherry blossoms, they are in bloom all over the place in my local area at the moment. They are particularly popular in front of the older houses. They make the perfect centerpiece for a dinner party, with candles underneath, an idea which I have borrowed from magazine editorial on one of Collette Dinnigan's dinner parties I came across a few years back.

A few days in paradise

On Thursday last week, I went up to the Gold Coast to spend two nights at the Marriott Resort, Surfers Paradise, with my close friend Sam. Sam and I have been friend's since the early days of high school and it was our forth trip to the Gold Coast together. After a rocky start of nearly missing my flight due to shocking traffic surrounding the airport, I managed to have an amazing stay at the hotel. We hardly left the place! There isn't much reason to leave when you have an amazing pool, spa, room service and the perfect view over the pool, river and ocean from your suite. I'm in urgent need to hit to gym after all those breakfast, lunches and dinners we devoured - Pancakes, Club Sandwiches, Sushi, Tepanyaki & Fruit Cocktails. We had lovely warm weather for two out of the three days. It was great to leave Sydney's cold weather behind, put on a swimming costume and lounge by the pool. I even got to go snorkelling with the tropical fish in the hotel lagoon! On the Friday night we checked out nightclubs East & Platinum in Broadbeach, which I plan to revisit when I return in the Summer. Unfortunately, I had some problems with my camera again so we had to use my iphone. Here are some pic from our lovely little holiday:
